Local Share Moldova
A farmer-owned produce-share for community prosperity
Local · Pure · Traceable
Same produce, same farmers, one new brand: a subscription box connecting growers in Cocieri directly with households and expatriates in Chisinau.
Why now
The window is open to be first
EU accession burdens small market operators today, and will eventually reach household farmers too.
Selling into physical marketplaces means spot pricing and a limited customer base.
Be part of the first local brand committed to its producers, its customers, and its community.

Why verification matters in Moldova
ANSA testing in 2025 found 9.6% of imported produce samples over pesticide limits, against 1.7% of domestic. Local really is the safer choice, when it is genuinely local.
Outside formal certification, pesticide-free, eco and natural claims face no official verification in Moldova.
Temperature abuse and never-frozen claims do not show up in standard chemical tests. Cold-chain integrity is a genuine blind spot.
Pesticides are permitted up to legal limits, so no-pesticide or chemical-free labels can still describe produce carrying residues below the threshold.
The Local Share answer
Evidence, not assurance
Three commitments behind every box, each one verifiable by the customer rather than asserted on the label. Starting small, designed for scale.
Local first
Rural communities and household farmers come first. Customers know which farm, in which region, their food came from, and local producers earn city revenues.
Labeling accuracy
No organic, natural or ecological claims without certification. Imported components in jarred goods are disclosed, and every label batch carries a QR code linking to the digital record.
Traceability from farmer to consumer
Every batch gets a unique ID: producer, coordinates, harvest date and pest-management measures, digitally tracked at each transition from farm to storage to delivery, including the cold chain.
Who benefits
Built for every stakeholder in the community
- Certain income: a committed buyer at a fair, agreed price before the season.
- New, secure revenue with no new risk: selling to pre-paid subscribers, with the co-op taking on liability.
- Shared muscle: cold chain and delivery shared, with no facility to build or maintain alone.
- Strength in numbers: one bad crop recovered by spreading risk.
- Founder member status: the face and standard-setter of the Local Share Moldova brand.
- A real say in governance of the community, once the SRL is established.
- Fresh, local, traceable food from growers you can name.
- A dependable periodical box, delivered.
- Money stays with the farming community.
- Benefits without state aid: no tax giveaway, no state-aid risk to carry.
- Local jobs and income: retained value and a reason for young people to stay, demonstrating EU compliance.
- A seat at the table: majority stake and board control keep public purpose safe.
- Constitutional fit: serves enterprise, local autonomy and the land (Art. 126, 109).
How it works
The objective: joint interest between community, government and business
Business start-up
Households in Chisinau pay in advance for a periodical, branded Local Share producer box, letting farmers lock in buyers before the season even starts.
Producer pooling
EcoWine Moldova onboards local growers into one cooperative under Law No. 73/2001, "Local Share MD". Each member holds one vote.
Joint operatorations and interest
A council-backed SRL public-private operator handles packing, cold storage, delivery and paperwork. Producers farm and harvest as usual.
The evidence base
Built on principles already proven
No subsidy or new laws: Local Share Moldova uses existing frameworks.
Communities controlled locally, through shared decision-making
The council shares the interest with the farmers, giving government and society an equal say in how the community operates.
Voluntary and competitive local governance
Prosperity grows when governments have a stake in the operations of their communities, and people choose those governments.
Entrepreneurial communities are forward-thinking
Producer-owned platforms follow proven models in Switzerland, Dubai and several prosperous societies in Latin America and India.
